Amalgamated Union of Foodstuffs and Cattle Dealers in Nigeria threaten to cut off food supply nationwide

The Amalgamated Union of Foodstuffs and Cattle Dealers in Nigeria (AUFCDN), which represents northern food dealers, has threatened to restart their strike and cut off food supplies across the country.
according to the group, the decision will be made, because the federal government has failed to pay the N4.75 billion compensation that was agreed upon.
The traders, on the other hand, have given the government a three-week deadline to implement the inked deal that led to the end of their strike in March.
Comrade Muhammad Tahir, president of the AUFCDN, told journalists on Tuesday, June 8 that the government is yet to fulfill the union’s requests three months after the strike was called off.
He stated that after the three-week deadline expires, the traders will ensure a statewide food supply embargo.
